Description
This Air Fryer Roasted Garlic recipe delivers perfectly caramelized, soft, and flavorful garlic heads using your air fryer. It’s an easy and quick way to enhance any dish with the rich, mellow sweetness of roasted garlic without heating up your oven.
Ingredients
Scale
Garlic
- 2 heads of garlic
Oil
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
Instructions
- Prepare the garlic: Cut off the top of each head of garlic just enough to expose all the cloves slightly, keeping them connected at the base. This allows the garlic cloves to roast evenly and become tender inside the bulb.
- Wrap and season: Place each garlic head on a piece of foil, drizzle 1 teaspoon of olive oil over the exposed cloves, then wrap the foil tightly around the garlic heads to trap the heat and moisture during cooking.
- Air fry: Place the wrapped garlic heads in the air fryer basket and cook at 380°F (193°C) for 25 minutes. The heat will roast the garlic cloves to a golden softness, perfect for spreading or adding to recipes.
- Cool down: After cooking, let the garlic cool inside the air fryer with the door closed for about 5 to 10 minutes to prevent burning your fingers when handling the hot garlic.
- Use or store: Remove the roasted cloves from their skins using a knife, small spoon, or by gently squeezing. Use immediately in recipes or store the roasted garlic in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, or freeze for longer storage.
Notes
- You can add herbs or spices like thyme or rosemary to the garlic before wrapping for additional flavor.
- Be careful when squeezing the garlic cloves right after cooking as they will be very hot.
- Roasted garlic can be spread on bread, mixed into sauces, or added to mashed potatoes.
- Freezing roasted garlic in small portions makes it easy to add to recipes later.
