Ingredients
Scale
Banana Mixture
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup melted butter
Wet Ingredients
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Add-ins
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a standard loaf pan to prevent sticking.
- Mix bananas and butter: In a large bowl, combine the mashed ripe bananas with the melted butter until they are well blended.
- Add sugar, egg, and vanilla: Stir in the granulated sugar, then beat in the egg followed by the vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- Incorporate baking soda and salt: Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the banana mixture, then stir thoroughly to combine all ingredients evenly.
- Fold in flour and chocolate chips: Gradually add the all-purpose flour into the mixture and gently fold it in. Once combined, fold in the chocolate chips, dispersing them evenly throughout the batter.
- Pour batter into pan and bake: Transfer the batter into the greased loaf pan and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool before slicing: Remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use overripe bananas for best flavor and natural sweetness.
- You can substitute chocolate chips with nuts or dried fruit for variety.
- Ensure not to overmix after adding flour to keep the bread tender.
- Store the banana bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
