Delicious and easy-to-make Peanut Butter Balls that combine creamy peanut butter, crispy Rice Krispies cereal, and rich melted chocolate for a perfect no-bake treat. These bite-sized snacks are great for parties or an anytime sweet craving.
Ingredients
Scale
Peanut Butter Ball Mixture
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- ¼ cup butter (softened)
- 2 ½ cups Rice Krispies cereal
Chocolate Coating
- 2 cups chocolate chips (dark chocolate preferred)
Instructions
- Prepare Mixture: In a large bowl, cream together the peanut butter, softened butter, and powdered sugar until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Then gently stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until everything is evenly coated.
- Form Balls: Roll the peanut butter mixture into small, bite-sized balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Once all balls are formed, place the sheet in the freezer for 20 minutes to allow the balls to firm up.
- Melt Chocolate: Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly after each interval until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
- Dip Peanut Butter Balls: Using a fork or toothpick, dip each peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate to coat it completely. Return the coated balls to the parchment-lined sheet.
- Chill Until Firm: Place the coated peanut butter balls in the refrigerator or freezer until the chocolate is set and firm.
- Storage: Store the peanut butter balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week, or freeze them for up to a few months for longer storage.
Notes
- Ensure the butter is softened before mixing for easier blending.
- Chilling the balls before dipping helps keep their shape.
- Use dark chocolate for a richer flavor, or substitute with milk or white chocolate as desired.
- These peanut butter balls do not require baking, making this a quick and simple no-cook dessert option.
- For a crunchier texture, do not over-mix the cereal into the mixture.
