Ingredients
Scale
Truffle Mixture
- 1 cup white cake mix
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon Christmas sprinkles (+ more for decoration)
Coating
- 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips (or vanilla almond bark)
Instructions
- Prepare the truffle mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together the white cake mix, all-purpose flour, and granulated sugar until well combined. Stir in the melted butter, vanilla extract, milk, and Christmas sprinkles. Mix until the batter is moist and can easily hold its shape when formed into balls.
- Chill the truffles: Using a cookie scoop or spoon, form the mixture into evenly sized balls. Place them on a plate or tray and refrigerate for 20 to 30 minutes to firm up, making them easier to coat.
- Melt the white chocolate: While the truffles chill, melt the white chocolate chips using a double boiler or microwave in short intervals, stirring frequently until smooth and fully melted.
- Coat the truffles: Using a fork, dip each chilled truffle into the melted white chocolate, rolling it around to evenly coat. Gently tap off any excess chocolate and place the coated truffle on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper.
- Decorate and set: Immediately sprinkle additional Christmas sprinkles on top of the coated truffles if desired. Allow the chocolate coating to set and harden at room temperature or in the refrigerator before serving.
Notes
- For best results, use white almond bark as an easier alternative to white chocolate chips for dipping.
- Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- You can substitute Christmas sprinkles with any festive colored sprinkles for different occasions.
- Using a cookie scoop helps ensure uniform size and even chilling.
- If your chocolate thickens before coating all truffles, gently rewarm it to maintain smooth consistency.
