Ingredients
Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
Cinnamon Swirl
- 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Glaze
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan. Line it with parchment paper to ensure easy removal.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Combine wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, milk, and beaten egg. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix to keep the bread light and tender.
- Prepare cinnamon swirl: In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and melted butter to create a rich cinnamon filling.
- Assemble the loaf: Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the batter, then gently swirl with a knife. Repeat this layering and swirling process with the remaining batter and cinnamon mixture.
- Bake: Place the loaf pan in the oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Once baked, let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
- Cool and glaze: Transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool completely. Meanwhile, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth to make the glaze. Drizzle the glaze generously over the cooled cinnamon roll bread before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Ensure not to overmix the batter to avoid dense bread.
- You can use any milk of choice, including non-dairy alternatives like almond or oat milk.
- For extra indulgence, add chopped nuts or raisins into the cinnamon swirl.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
