Description

This Cottage Cheese Iced Coffee Shake is a creamy, protein-packed drink that combines the rich texture of cottage cheese with the bold flavor of cold brew coffee. Perfect for a refreshing and energizing treat, this shake blends smooth and sweet notes with optional flavor boosts like mocha, cinnamon, or vanilla for a customizable iced coffee experience.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • ยฝ cup full-fat or low-fat cottage cheese
  • ยฝโ€“ยพ cup cold brew or strong iced coffee
  • ยฝ cup ice
  • 1โ€“2 tsp maple syrup, honey, or sweetener of choice
  • ยฝ tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Optional Add-ins

  • 1 tsp cocoa powder or chocolate protein powder (for mocha flavor)
  • Extra vanilla extract + a splash of milk or oat milk (for vanilla latte)
  • Dash of cinnamon or pumpkin spice (for cinnamon roll flavor)
  • 1 scoop vanilla or coffee protein powder (for high-protein boost)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients. Gather all base ingredients including cottage cheese, cold brew coffee, ice, maple syrup or another sweetener, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors.
  2. Blend the Shake. Combine cottage cheese, cold brew coffee, ice, sweetener, vanilla extract, and salt in a blender. Blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth with no curds remaining, resembling a latte milkshake texture.
  3. Customize Flavor (Optional). For additional flavors, add cocoa powder or chocolate protein for mocha vibes, extra vanilla and a splash of milk for a vanilla latte, a dash of cinnamon or pumpkin spice for a cinnamon roll twist, or a scoop of protein powder for an extra protein boost before blending again briefly.
  4. Thicken the Shake (Optional). For a thicker consistency, freeze the coffee into ice cubes beforehand and use those instead of regular ice cubes during blending.
  5. Serve and Enjoy. Pour the blended shake into a large glass and enjoy immediately as a refreshing and protein-rich coffee beverage.

Notes

  • Using full-fat cottage cheese provides an extra creamy texture, though low-fat varieties can work well too.
  • A pinch of salt is essential to enhance and balance the flavors in the shake.
  • Sweeteners can be adjusted to taste; maple syrup and honey provide natural sweetness.
  • Freezing the coffee into ice cubes beforehand prevents dilution and gives a thicker shake.
  • The shake is best consumed immediately for freshness and optimal texture.
