Ingredients
Scale
Meat and Cheese Filling
- 1 lb ground beef
- ½ cup cooked chopped bacon
- 1 Tbsp McCormick Grill Mates Hamburger seasoning
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 8 oz Velveeta cheese, cubed
- 1½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
Dough and Topping
- 1 (13.8-oz) can pizza dough
- Everything bagel seasoning, for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425ºF and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for baking the bread.
- Cook Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until no longer pink, then drain any excess grease to keep the filling from being too oily.
- Combine Filling Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the cooked ground beef, chopped cooked bacon, hamburger seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, and Velveeta cubes. Stir gently until the Velveeta starts melting and everything is evenly combined.
- Prepare Dough: Open the can of pizza dough and roll it out into a 15×10-inch rectangle on a clean, flat surface.
- Assemble Bread: Spread the meat and cheese mixture evenly over the pizza dough, then sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Roll and Seal: Starting from the long side of the rectangle, carefully roll the dough jelly-roll style. Pinch the edges firmly to seal the filling inside and prevent leakage during baking.
- Prepare for Baking: Place the rolled loaf seam-side down on the parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle the top generously with everything bagel seasoning for added flavor and texture.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool and Serve: Let the garbage bread cool for 5 to 10 minutes on a wire rack before slicing. This resting time allows the filling to set, making it easier to cut and enjoy.
Notes
- You can substitute Velveeta with another creamy cheese like cream cheese or a processed cheese if unavailable.
- Feel free to add chopped onions, green peppers, or jalapeños to the meat mixture for extra flavor and spice.
- To make cleanup easier, line your baking sheet with parchment or aluminum foil.
- This bread is best served warm for gooey melted cheese and a soft crust.
- Everything bagel seasoning can be replaced with sesame seeds or poppy seeds as preferred.
