Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Marinade & Sauce
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/3 cup honey
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, and brown sugar until well mixed. Add the chicken breasts, ensuring they are fully coated in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to infuse.
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking the chicken.
- Bake Chicken: Place the marinated chicken breasts in a lined baking dish. Pour any remaining marinade over the chicken to keep it moist. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) ensuring it’s fully cooked and juicy.
- Broil for Finish: For a beautifully caramelized finish, switch your oven to broil mode and broil the chicken for the last 5 minutes. This adds a lovely glaze and enhances the honey garlic flavor.
- Serve: Remove the chicken from the oven and drizzle with the sauce from the pan. Serve hot alongside your favorite rice or vegetables for a complete meal.
Notes
- Marinating the chicken for longer, up to 2 hours, will enhance the flavor even more.
- Make sure the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F to ensure it is safely cooked.
- For a thicker sauce, you can simmer the leftover marinade in a pan until it reduces to a syrupy consistency.
- Use low-sodium soy sauce to keep the sodium level moderate.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
