It’s a perfect blend of crunchy, creamy, and tangy flavors, ready in just 40 minutes for a delicious and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Coating

  • 2 large chicken breasts, cut into strips
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying (about 1/2 inch deep in skillet)

Hot Honey Sauce

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1.5 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Caesar Salad & Wrap Ingredients

  • 4 cups romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Caesar dressing
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved (optional)
  • 1 cup croutons (optional)
  • 4 large flour tortillas, 10-inch

Instructions

  1. Marinate Chicken: Place the chicken strips in a bowl and cover completely with buttermilk. Let them rest for at least 15 minutes to tenderize the meat.
  2. Prepare Breading Mixture: In a shallow dish, combine the flour, panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly to distribute the seasonings evenly.
  3. Coat Chicken: Remove the marinated chicken strips from the buttermilk and dredge each piece in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently so they are fully coated.
  4. Fry Chicken: Heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Working in batches, fry the coated chicken strips for 4 to 5 minutes per side until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Remove and drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  5. Prepare Hot Honey: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine honey, hot sauce, and optional red pepper flakes. Warm gently while stirring for about 2 minutes until the flavors meld. Remove from heat immediately to prevent burning.
  6. Coat Chicken in Hot Honey: Add the fried chicken strips to the warm hot honey mixture and toss thoroughly so each piece is evenly coated with the glaze.
  7. Assemble Caesar Salad: In a large bowl, combine chopped romaine lettuce, Caesar dressing, and grated Parmesan cheese. Toss gently to coat the lettuce evenly. Add halved cherry tomatoes and croutons if using, and mix lightly.
  8. Warm Tortillas: Heat the tortillas by placing them in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds per side or microwave wrapped in a damp paper towel for 20 seconds until warm and pliable.
  9. Assemble Wraps: Place each warm tortilla flat and layer a generous amount of Caesar salad mixture in the center. Top with the hot honey chicken strips. Fold in the sides and roll the tortilla tightly toward you to enclose the filling.
  10. Serve: Slice each wrap diagonally in half and serve immediately while the hot honey chicken remains warm.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add more hot sauce or red pepper flakes to the hot honey glaze.
  • Ensure oil is hot enough before frying to get a crispy coating without absorbing too much oil.
  • Use fresh romaine for best crunch in the salad.
  • Cherry tomatoes and croutons are optional but add nice texture and freshness.
  • Can substitute flour tortillas for whole wheat or gluten-free versions if desired.
  • Leftover wraps should be wrapped tightly and stored refrigerated; reheat in a skillet or oven for best texture.
