Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 12 Pero Family Farms® mini sweet peppers, halved and seeded
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup mini pepperoni slices

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and simplify cleanup.
  2. Prepare Peppers: Arrange the halved and seeded mini sweet peppers on the prepared baking sheet with the open side facing up. Each half will serve as a mini pizza base.
  3. Add Toppings: Spoon about 1 teaspoon of pizza sauce into each pepper half, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle approximately 1 teaspoon of shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce, then add a few mini pepperoni slices to each.
  4. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the peppers are softened and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Serve: Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm as a delightful mini pizza treat.

Notes

  • To reduce sodium, opt for low-sodium pizza sauce and turkey pepperoni.
  • For a vegetarian choice, omit pepperoni or substitute with sliced olives or mushrooms.
  • You can customize toppings such as bell peppers, onions, or fresh basil to suit your taste.
  • Ensure peppers are well-seeded to prevent excess moisture from making the mini pizzas soggy.
  • These can be prepared ahead and baked just before serving for fresh, hot bites.
