It’s the perfect dessert for parties, family gatherings, or cozy nights at home. Let the crockpot do all the work while you enjoy this warm, molten lava-style cake with a surprise candy bar center!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (about 15.25 oz)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 15 Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 4 regular-sized candy bars (Snickers, Milky Way, or your favorite), chopped
  • 1 cup hot fudge sauce
  • 1 cup whipped cream (for serving, optional)
  • Ice cream (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Grease the inside of your crockpot with cooking spray or butter.
  2. Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions by combining the mix, water, oil, and eggs in a large bowl. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour half of the cake batter into the bottom of the crockpot.
  4. Sprinkle half of the crushed Oreos, chocolate chips, and chopped candy bars over the batter.
  5. Pour the remaining cake batter on top, spreading it evenly.
  6. Add the remaining Oreos, chocolate chips, and candy bars on top.
  7. Drizzle the hot fudge sauce over the entire mixture. Do not stir.
  8. Cover and cook on High for 2–2.5 hours or until the cake is mostly set but still slightly gooey in the center.
  9. Once done, turn off the crockpot and let the cake sit for 10–15 minutes to set slightly.
  10. Serve warm with whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream on top for an extra indulgent treat!

Notes

  • Use any candy bars you like—Reese’s, Twix, or Kit Kat all work well!
  • For an extra gooey texture, reduce the cooking time slightly.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in the microwave for 20–30 seconds for that freshly-made gooey goodness.
