Description

These Patriotic Brownie Bombs are a fun and festive treat perfect for celebrating any occasion with a burst of red, white, and blue. Moist brownie circles are filled with a smooth, colored cream cheese filling and finished with optional colorful sprinkles, making them both visually stunning and deliciously rich. Easy to assemble and ideal for gatherings, these bite-sized delights combine classic brownie flavor with a creamy twist.

Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Batter

  • 1 box brownie mix (family size)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water (or coffee for extra flavor)

Cream Cheese Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • Red and blue gel food coloring

Optional Decoration

  • Sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brownie Batter: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water (or coffee if using) and mix thoroughly until the batter is smooth and consistent.
  2. Bake the Brownies: Grease a baking pan and pour the batter evenly into it. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
  3. Make the Cream Cheese Filling: In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Divide the filling into two portions and color each with red and blue gel food coloring to your desired shades.
  4. Cut Brownie Circles: Once fully cooled, use a small cookie cutter to cut out circles from the baked brownies to serve as the base and top for your bombs.
  5. Assemble the Brownie Bombs: Place a dollop of the colored cream cheese filling on one brownie circle, then top it with another brownie circle to sandwich the filling inside.
  6. Decorate and Chill: Optionally, roll the assembled brownie bombs in sprinkles for a festive touch. Refrigerate the brownie bombs for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the filling to set.

Notes

  • Using coffee instead of water in the brownie batter can enhance the chocolate flavor.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened to ensure a smooth filling.
  • These brownie bombs can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • To make them easier to handle, chill the brownie circles before assembling.
  • Feel free to use other gel colors to customize for different occasions.
