Description

Tortilla Pizza Rolls are a fun and easy twist on classic pizza, featuring flour tortillas rolled with pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, olives, and bell peppers. Baked to golden perfection, these bite-sized rolls are perfect for snacks, parties, or quick meals.

Ingredients

Scale

Wraps

  • 4 large flour tortillas (10-inch diameter)

For Brushing

  • Cooking spray or 2 tablespoons olive oil

Filling

  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 ounces)
  • 1 cup diced pepperoni (4 ounces)
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers (any color)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Spread Sauce on Tortilla: Place a tortilla flat on a clean surface and evenly spread 1/4 cup of pizza sauce over it, leaving about a 1/2-inch border around the edges to prevent spillover during rolling.
  3. Add Cheese and Toppings: Sprinkle 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce. Then top with 1/4 cup diced pepperoni, 1 tablespoon diced bell peppers, and 1 tablespoon sliced black olives for each tortilla.
  4. Season the Filling: Lightly sprinkle a pinch of garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using) over the toppings to add flavor complexity.
  5. Roll the Tortilla: Carefully roll the tortilla tightly from one end to form a pinwheel shape, pressing gently as you go to seal the roll and keep the fillings contained.
  6. Repeat for Remaining Tortillas: Repeat the assembly process for the other three tortillas using the remaining sauce, cheese, and toppings.
  7. Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place each rolled tortilla seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly brush the tops with olive oil or cooking spray for a golden finish.
  8. Bake Until Golden: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the tortillas turn golden brown and the cheese inside is melted and bubbly.
  9. Cool and Slice: Remove from the oven and let the rolls cool for 5 minutes to set before slicing. Slice each roll into 1-inch pieces to create bite-sized pizza pinwheels.
  10. Serve Warm: Serve the tortilla pizza rolls immediately, accompanied by extra pizza sauce for dipping if desired.

Notes

  • You can customize the filling with your favorite pizza toppings such as mushrooms, onions, or different meats.
  • For a crispier texture, brush the tortillas lightly with olive oil before baking.
  • Allow rolls to cool slightly before slicing to maintain their shape and prevent filling from spilling out.
  • These rolls can be prepared ahead and baked just before serving for convenience.
