Description

This festive Valentine’s Day Bark is a delightful no-bake treat featuring layers of smooth dark and white chocolate, topped with colorful sprinkles, nuts, and dried fruits. Perfect for gifting or sharing, it’s simple to make and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Layers

  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Toppings

  • 1/2 cup red and pink sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds or walnuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries or strawberries

Instructions

  1. Prepare baking sheet. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the chocolate from sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Melt dark chocolate. Place dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each until the chocolate is completely smooth.
  3. Spread dark chocolate. Pour the melted dark chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly to about 1/2 inch thickness using a spatula.
  4. Melt white chocolate. Similarly, melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring until smooth.
  5. Drizzle white chocolate. Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the dark chocolate layer using a spoon or piping bag to create a decorative pattern.
  6. Add toppings. While the chocolate is still warm, sprinkle the red and pink sprinkles, chopped nuts, and dried fruits generously over the surface, gently pressing them to ensure they adhere.
  7. Chill and set. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about an hour until the chocolate has fully hardened.
  8. Serve. Break the hardened bark into pieces and enjoy or package as a sweet gift.

Notes

  • Use good-quality chocolate for best flavor and smooth texture.
  • The nuts are optional; substitute or omit as preferred to suit dietary needs.
  • For an even smoother finish, temper the chocolate if desired, though melting in the microwave is quicker and simpler.
  • Store the bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep it fresh for up to two weeks.
  • Feel free to customize toppings with other dried fruits or festive candies for different occasions.
